What’s Included
- Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk revolver
The long-barrel Super Blackhawk layout pairs a 7.5-inch tube with an under-barrel ejector-rod housing, an unfluted six-shot cylinder, and a rounded trigger guard. The standard Blackhawk-size (XR3-RED-style) grip frame provides familiar balance and control.
Built on alloy steel, this revolver presents a two-tone appearance: the main frame flats and adjacent areas are in-the-wood/silver, while the barrel, cylinder, and ejector-rod housing are blued and the grip frame matches in-the-white/silver. Ruger did not catalog this model with a bright/silver frame in this era; the frame bluing appears to have been stripped/polished or otherwise refinished from an originally uniform blued configuration.
Sights are practical and robust: a ramped front blade and an adjustable rear sight set into the topstrap with protective ears. The revolver runs single-action only and incorporates Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system.
Stocked with smooth hardwood grip panels featuring Ruger silver-eagle medallions, this 1980s-era example bears the 84- prefix, aligning to an approximate 1982 shipment per Ruger’s reference table. It is chambered in .44 Remington Magnum and will also fire .44 Special.
