The PF-9 pairs a micro footprint with a DAO, hammer-fired system and an internal hammer block for safety. The slide locks open on empty, and the trigger is double-action only for consistent pulls. It is rated for SAAMI +P ammunition, with the note that such loads are not for sustained use.
Construction centers on a 7075-T6 aluminum receiver nested in a polymer grip shell with Kel-Tec’s waffle texture. The barrel is 4140 steel. The slide has rear serrations only, maintaining a thin profile and straightforward manipulation.
Dimensions are optimized for concealment: overall length 5.85 in, height 4.3 in, width 0.88 in, and an unloaded weight of approximately 12.7 oz. Capacity is 7+1 with the included single-stack magazine, and the barrel length is 3.1 in.
Sighting is simple and serviceable with a fixed front white dot and a windage-adjustable rear notch with white dots for a 3-dot picture. A single-slot accessory rail on the dustcover provides mounting for compatible lights or other rail-mounted accessories.
This model is discontinued, and was manufactured in Cocoa, Florida, USA. It remains notable for its slim, lightweight design and straightforward, carry-focused feature set.
