This DD5 V3 is built around a 16-inch cold hammer-forged barrel with a threaded muzzle and the Daniel Defense Superior Suppression Device flash hider. A rifle-length gas system paired with a two-position adjustable gas block lets the shooter tune for suppressed or unsuppressed use.
The upper and lower receivers are aluminum with a black anodized finish, and the upper is marked 7.62. Daniel Defense employs its DD 4-bolt barrel-to-upper interface for a secure fit, while the DLC-coated DD5 bolt carrier group with dual ejectors supports consistent extraction. A forward assist and dust cover are present.
The free-float aluminum handguard includes M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock and a continuous T-marked Picatinny top rail. Ambidextrous lower controls, an ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP charging handle, and an ambidextrous safety enhance handling. The collapsible stock provides an adjustable length of pull of approximately 12–15 inches and includes a QD sling socket, and the rifle wears a Daniel Defense textured pistol grip.
This AR-10 platform accepts SR-25/PMAG LR/SR pattern magazines, and two 20-round PMAGs are included. The receivers are marked Black Creek, GA U.S.A., and the model is marked DD5V3.
