The KDS9c Rail combines a compact double-stack 1911-style platform with single-action operation and a 17+1 capacity. The frame is machined from 7075 aluminum alloy and paired with textured G-10 grip panels, providing a solid, controllable interface in a compact size.
Its 4.09 in bushingless, fluted stainless bull barrel uses a belled muzzle for lock-up. The slide adds front and rear cocking serrations, flat-top serrations, and a lowered, flared ejection port. An optics cut with a screw-retained cover plate is factory executed, and the included adapter/cover plate carries an integral rear sight.
Controls include ambidextrous thumb safeties and a high undercut trigger guard, with a beavertail frame contour for comfortable control. A skeletonized flat-faced trigger and a skeletonized commander-style hammer complete the single-action fire-control setup. Frontstrap and backstrap square-grid texturing enhance purchase.
3-dot iron sights are installed, and the dust cover integrates a 1913 Picatinny accessory rail. The steel double-stack magazines show witness marks to 15, with one extended-basepad magazine configured for 17 rounds. This recent KDS9c-series release is manufactured by Kimber in Troy, Alabama, USA.
