What’s Included
- Ithaca Model 37 12 gauge pump-action shotgun
Built in the late 1940s, this Model 37 reflects the early production features that made the platform distinct. Bottom ejection keeps empties out of the shooter’s line of sight and makes the gun naturally ambidextrous. The takedown configuration, secured with a knurled magazine cap, allows compact storage and straightforward maintenance.
The 28-inch plain steel barrel is choked Modified and chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells. A single red/orange bead front sight provides a simple, fast index. The gun is configured for a 2+1 capacity suitable for many field applications.
The receiver carries factory game-scene roll engraving with upland dog and birds, complemented by a traditional blued finish and "PROOF TESTED" marking. The frame and receiver are steel, consistent with the robust construction of the era.
Walnut furniture includes a pistol-grip stock with checkered wrist and a corncob/ringed forend for a secure grasp. An aftermarket Simmons ventilated recoil pad with contrasting spacer is installed, yielding a 14.0-inch length of pull. The early no-disconnector trigger system enables hold-to-fire operation (slam-fire capable), a hallmark of initial Model 37 production.
