Product Description

Marlin 1894 .44 Rem Magnum Lever-Action, 20.25 in Micro-Groove Barrel, 1971 JM North Haven, Lyman Aperture Sight

This 1971 Marlin Model 1894 in .44 Remington Magnum is a North Haven JM-era rifle featuring the pre–cross-bolt-safety design. It carries a 20.25-inch round carbon steel barrel with Micro-Groove rifling, a full-length 10+1 tubular magazine, and a solid-top receiver with right-side loading and ejection. A Lyman receiver-mounted aperture rear sight is professionally installed, and the factory rear barrel dovetail is cleanly filled with a blank. Classic straight-grip walnut furniture and a blued finish complete this well-configured lever gun.

    What’s Included

    • Marlin Model 1894 .44 Rem Magnum lever-action rifle
    • Lyman receiver-mounted aperture rear sight (installed)
    • Rear barrel sight dovetail blank (installed)

The 20.25-inch round barrel uses Marlin’s Micro-Groove rifling and is made of carbon steel with a blued finish. This setup, paired with the full-length tubular magazine, gives the rifle a 10+1 capacity in .44 Remington Magnum.

The solid-top receiver feeds from a right-side loading gate and ejects to the right. This example is a 1971 North Haven production (JM-era) and retains the pre–cross-bolt-safety configuration with a standard lever loop.

Sighting is upgraded with a Lyman receiver-mounted aperture rear sight. The rear barrel dovetail has been filled with a clean blank, and the front sight is a hooded ramp, giving a clear and durable iron-sight arrangement.

The rifle wears straight-grip walnut furniture with an uncheckered stock and a barrel-band forend secured by two barrel bands. It is finished with a Marlin hard buttplate with a white-line spacer and a sling stud at the toe. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
