Swiss manufacture and clear import markings set this SDP Compact apart. The slide bears the "SPHINX MADE IN SWITZERLAND" rollmark; there is no hex logo on the slide. The Sphinx hex/lion logo is present on the frame (right side ahead of the trigger) and molded into the grip backstraps, and the frame carries "KRISS USA, Inc., Virginia Beach, VA," confirming its origin and import path.
The steel slide wears a tan, earth-tone finish and includes both front and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation. Fixed sights are fitted, with a high-visibility green fiber-optic front that provides a clean, simple sight picture.
The two-part frame combines a hard-anodized aluminum upper frame with a polymer lower grip module that has rubberized inserts. Both the upper frame and the grip module are finished in tan, while the removable rubberized grip panels/backstrap are black, and the grip can be tailored with the included interchangeable backstraps.
Controls are user-friendly: DA/SA operation with an external hammer and pronounced beavertail, ambidextrous decocker, ambidextrous slide stop levers, and a reversible magazine catch. An integral Picatinny rail with four slots on the dust cover supports light or laser attachment. Capacity is 15+1, and the included magazines are Made in Italy.
