The BL-22 action features a short 33-degree lever throw and a trigger that moves with the lever for smooth cycling. It uses a standard (non-large) lever loop and an exposed hammer, reinforcing the compact, fast-handling design the BL-22 is known for.
This Grade I model has a 20-inch barrel and a full-length tubular magazine with a knurled magazine tube cap. Capacity is listed at 15+1, and the chamber accommodates .22 Short and .22 Long as well as .22 Long Rifle, providing flexibility at the range or in the field.
The rifle wears a high-gloss walnut straight-grip stock with matching walnut forearm and two barrel bands (a rear band at the forearm tip and a forward barrel/magazine tube band near the muzzle). The metal is finished in blue, including the receiver, and the length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
Sighting equipment includes a ramped blade front and a folding open notch rear with an elevator. The receiver is cut for 3/8-inch tip-off rimfire rings, and this example comes fitted with a Simmons 4x28mm Duplex 1" Scope (22 MAG series) in 1-inch tip-off rings. The scope uses a duplex reticle and a 1-inch tube, with fully coated optics.
