The A391 Xtrema2 uses a semi-automatic, gas-operated action with a rotating bolt locking head and an exhaust-valve gas system. The aluminum-alloy receiver incorporates an internal elastomer recoil absorber for added shootability. A cross-bolt safety is positioned at the front of the trigger guard, and a round bolt-release button is located on the right side. Capacity is 2+1.
The 28 inch alloy-steel barrel features a ventilated rib and a single metal front bead. Both the bore and chamber are chrome-lined and rated for use with steel shot. The barrel accepts Optimachoke Plus choke tubes, and this shotgun includes a flush Modified choke installed.
The chamber is 3 1/2 inches, offering compatibility with 12 gauge shells up to 3.5 inches. This configuration pairs well with the Xtrema2 gas system and rotating bolt for reliable cycling across appropriate loads.
Furniture is fiber-glass–reinforced polymer with a shim-adjustable stock and a Gel-Tek recoil pad. Length of pull measures 15.0 inches. The stock includes a rear QD sling swivel socket, and the grip areas have gray textured panels for consistent purchase. The forend is polymer to match.
