The P30L is the long-slide variant in the P30 series, pairing a hammer-fired DA/SA system with the V3 trigger and a rear-mounted decocking button. It uses a short-recoil, Browning-type action with a spurred external hammer. Ambidextrous slide release levers and the paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release make the controls fully two-sided.
The slide features front and rear serrations and an external extractor that also serves as a loaded chamber indicator. Its 4.45 in barrel is cold hammer forged with six-sided polygonal rifling and a 1:9.84 twist rate.
The full-size polymer frame incorporates a modular grip system with interchangeable backstrap and side panels, along with a textured surface for a secure hold. A full-length accessory rail with four Picatinny slots accommodates lights or other rail-mounted equipment.
Sighting is via fixed 3-dot iron sights, with a dovetailed front dot and a dovetailed U-notch rear with two dots. The extended slide provides a 6.42 in sight radius. Markings include German nitro proofs, the Ulm proof-house mark, DE country code, AK two-letter date code, “HK Sidearms GmbH – Made in Germany,” and the “HKI – Columbus, GA” import mark. The slide, frame, and barrel share matching serial numbers.
