The 28 in steel barrel has a vent rib and uses a white front bead with a brass mid-bead for clear sight alignment. It is threaded for choke tubes and is compatible with Mossberg’s Accu-Choke flush screw-in system, offering adaptable patterns for different field uses.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with an anodized finish and is drilled and tapped with four plug screws. A circular inspection/proof stamp is present above the serial area. The knurled magazine cap allows quick barrel changes.
This 500A is chambered for both 2 3/4 in and 3 in shells and holds 5+1 rounds. The tang safety is ambidextrous, and operation is the proven Mossberg pump-action design. Length of pull measures 14.0 in.
The hardwood stock features pressed checkering for grip, while the matching hardwood forend is smooth (uncheckered). Both wear a gloss varnish. A ventilated recoil pad with a black butt spacer completes the stock set. Manufacturing markings indicate North Haven, Connecticut, United States.
