What’s Included
- Thompson/Center "Sidelock Black Powder Guns" manual (original)
The Renegade uses a traditional percussion sidelock with a right-hand lock orientation and external hammer. This example retains its original #11 percussion cap ignition with the standard nipple and a cup-faced hammer. The lockplate and hammer show a color case-hardened finish with factory scroll-style engraving, adding a classic T/C touch that distinguishes this example.
Its 26" octagonal blued steel barrel is marked "THOMPSON/CENTER ARMS ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE" and "50 CAL. RENEGADE," with the caution "BLACK POWDER ONLY - INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE READ BEFORE USE." Sighting is straightforward and practical with open iron sights and an adjustable rear leaf.
The walnut half-stock is smooth and uncheckered, fitted with a steel buttplate. Two transverse wedge keys with oval escutcheons secure the barrel to the stock, staying true to traditional muzzleloader construction. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
Double set triggers offer a crisp, tunable trigger release. This single-shot .50 caliber configuration is a classic Thompson/Center sidelock pattern made in the United States, and the Renegade model is no longer in production.
