Built on a stainless steel frame with a matching stainless cylinder and barrel, this 856 is configured for durability in a compact package. The 2-inch barrel uses a half-lug profile, and the cylinder is long-fluted with a swing-out design for six rounds of .38 Special.
Operation is double-action/single-action with an exposed, checkered-spur hammer and a frame-mounted firing pin. A transfer-bar safety system is employed, and the revolver is rated for SAAMI-spec .38 Special +P ammunition.
