The Tactical package centers on a 5.11 in cold-hammer-forged barrel with polygonal rifling and a factory O-ring for precise barrel-to-slide lockup. Its muzzle is threaded M16x1 left-hand, the HK-standard pattern for this model, and is paired with a factory-installed thread protector. Use a compatible left-hand piston or adapter when mounting a suppressor.
Suppressor-height sights include a tall white-dot front and a tall plain serrated rear, providing a clear sight picture over a mounted suppressor. The pistol has a 6.65 in sight radius to support confident aiming.
This HK45 Tactical is a DA/SA, short-recoil, hammer-fired design with a frame-mounted safety/decocker, an exposed spurred hammer, and a paddle-style magazine release. Safety features include a firing pin block, disconnector, disassembly safety, and an extractor witness line that serves as a loaded-chamber indicator. Capacity is 10+1.
The slide wears HK's Hostile Environment nitro-carburized finish, and the polymer frame features an aggressive molded texture with finger grooves for secure control. A reduced-length MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail with four slots accommodates lighting or other rail-mounted accessories. The frame is marked "Made in USA." The HK45 platform reflects development tied to the JCP program with input from Larry Vickers and Ken Hackathorn.
