The Runnin' Iron variant is a full-size, six-shot .45 Colt built on the 1873 pattern and configured for single-action-only operation. It uses a 4.75-inch barrel and a classic fixed-sight arrangement with a front blade and a top-strap groove.
This example is Taylor Tuned, with action work that includes polished internals and customized springs. The result is a lighter, consistent trigger pull and smooth cycling. A wide, serrated hammer spur provides a confident thumb purchase.
Construction is forged steel for both the barrel and frame. The frame wears a color case-hardened finish, while the barrel and cylinder are blued, giving it a traditional two-tone appearance. Checkered walnut plow-handle grips complete the classic profile. An ejector rod with a crescent-style (half-moon) head aids case extraction.
Markings include Italian proof and inspection stamps on the frame and cylinder. The barrel is marked "TAYLOR'S & CO. WINCHESTER, VA - A. UBERTI, ITALY" and carries the inscription "MOD. 1873 CAL.
45 COLT." This revolver is a modern A. Uberti reproduction imported by Taylor's & Co. from Italy.
