The R1 uses Benelli’s A.R.G.O. gas system with a rotating three-lug bolt for smooth, reliable cycling. The right-side charging handle and cross-bolt safety offer familiar, straightforward controls. A bright-polished bolt body adds a clean visual contrast to the blued finish.
The carbine configuration features a 20-inch barrel with a plain crowned, non-threaded muzzle. The barrel is drilled and tapped for sight bases, and the receiver is marked "R1" with "CALIBER 30-06 Spring. ONLY" on the barrel. Capacity is 4+1 with the included detachable box magazine.
Premium woodwork sets this rifle apart. The AA-grade walnut stock and walnut forend feature cut checkering for a positive hold, a fluted comb, and a Benelli-branded rubber buttpad. Sling swivel studs are installed front and rear. The stock has a 14-inch length of pull.
Proofs and markings confirm its origin. The receiver carries Italian proof marks alongside "Benelli U.S.A. Corp. – Accokeek, MD – Made in Italy." Serial numbers are non-matching (receiver BB004721, barrel CB004721). This example also arrives with a one-piece Picatinny rail installed on the receiver and a set of 1-inch low rings to support scope mounting.
