This J.C. Higgins Model 30 is a U.S.-made .22 LR semi-automatic rifle produced for Sears by High Standard. It features a 24-inch steel barrel, under-barrel tubular magazine with 15-round capacity, and a classic hardwood stock with the J.C. Higgins-logo buttplate. A small-diameter rimfire-style scope is installed on a one-piece receiver base, and the rifle retains its ramped front sight and rear sight.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.
Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.
Specific Condition Notes: There is widespread rust and pitting across metal surfaces. The stock and metal show widespread scratches and blemishes. There is a line of non-factory, hand-scribed text on the underside of the receiver. The mounted scope is very difficult to see through.

Manufactured by High Standard for Sears, this Model 30 delivers the straightforward blowback operation typical of the platform. It chambers .22 LR and feeds from an under-barrel tubular magazine with a 15-round capacity. Ejection is through a right-side port.
The 24-inch steel barrel and blued steel receiver present a traditional rimfire build. The finish is blued throughout, consistent with period J.C. Higgins rifles.
The two-piece hardwood stock has a straight-comb, pistol-grip profile and is fitted with sling swivels. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, and the buttplate carries the J.C. Higgins logo with a white-line spacer.
Sighting equipment includes a ramped front blade and a rear sight. A small-diameter rimfire-style scope is mounted to a one-piece receiver base using rings.
This rifle is serial-number-exempt (no factory serial). Non-factory hand-scribed characters are present on the underside of the receiver.
