What’s Included
- Universal Firearms M1 Carbine Third Generation rifle
- 1x 5-round steel detachable M1 Carbine magazine
Universal Firearms' third-generation M1 Carbine uses a proprietary "new carbine" design distinct from USGI patterns. The receiver ring is marked "UNIVERSAL HIALEAH FLA CAL .30 M1 PAT. 3,382,766," referencing the company’s 1968 patent for a combination manual/automatic gas system. Many parts are non-interchangeable with USGI carbines.
The action is a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system paired with an 18 inch steel barrel and an unthreaded muzzle. Metal surfaces wear a blued/black-oxide finish, and the receiver is steel.
Furniture includes a hardwood stock with a GI-style sling cut and a checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13.25 inches. A ventilated steel handguard/heat shield with elongated oval ports aids cooling. The barrel band integrates a sling swivel and does not have a bayonet lug.
Sighting equipment consists of iron sights: a wing-protected front blade and a fully adjustable rear aperture with elevation and windage adjustments. Safety is a cross-bolt type with a red indicator dot for status at a glance.
This rifle is chambered in .30 Carbine with a 5+1 capacity and includes one 5-round steel magazine. It was manufactured in Hialeah, Florida, USA.
