The TP9DA uses a striker-fired DA/SA system with a top-mounted decocker, combining a double-action first shot option with single-action follow-ups. Safety features include a trigger safety, firing pin block, loaded chamber indicator, and a striker status indicator.
The polymer frame has molded texturing and interchangeable backstraps to fine-tune the grip. Full-size dimensions balance control and carry at 7.16 in overall length, 1.30 in width, and 5.71 in height, with an approximate weight of 27.7 oz.
Sight alignment is straightforward with durable fixed steel sights: a dovetailed white dot front and a plain serrated square-notch rear. The slide features rear serrations and dovetailed sights for serviceable durability.
