The Scout Squad configuration combines the M14-pattern operating system with a handier 18" carbon steel barrel (6-groove, 1:11 RH) and a factory muzzle brake. It uses a semi-automatic, gas-operated action with a rotating bolt and a two-stage trigger, delivering the familiar M1A shooting characteristics in a compact package.
Sighting is classic and precise: a National Match 0.062" front blade pairs with a military 0.0690" aperture rear sight that is MOA-adjustable for windage and elevation. This setup provides a durable, repeatable iron-sight solution suited to the platform.
The rifle features a walnut stock with a steel buttplate and a polymer top handguard with ribs and a scout rail cutout. Its matte gray/green phosphate finish protects the steel components, including the receiver. Length of pull is approximately 13.5", with an overall length of about 40.33" and a weight of about 9 lb 3 oz.
Chambered for .308 Win (also listed by the manufacturer as 7.62x51 NATO/.308 Win), the rifle is configured for a 10+1 capacity and includes one 10-round detachable box magazine.
A forward scout-style optic rail is integrated ahead of the receiver, providing a stable mounting surface in conjunction with the ribbed polymer handguard.
