German manufacture is confirmed by DE CIP proofs with the Ulm stag mark and the BE date code (2014), along with the importer stamp for Walther Arms, Fort Smith, AR. The factory case label lists "P99 AS 9x19 15R" and article number 2796325, matching the pistol’s configuration.
The P99 AS uses Walther’s DA/SA Anti-Stress striker system. It provides a two-stage first-shot single-action take-up, a top-mounted decocker for safe transition to double-action, an extractor that doubles as a loaded chamber indicator, and a rear striker-status indicator.
Construction is robust and duty-oriented: a Tenifer-treated steel slide and 4 in steel barrel, set in a glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame. The frame includes interchangeable backstraps for fit tuning and an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release. An integral accessory rail on the dust cover supports lights or other rail-mounted gear.
Sighting is with a 3-dot sight picture, featuring a white-dot front blade marked "HF" and a dovetailed rear notch.
