The Operator series features are well represented here: an integral 1913-style accessory rail with three cross-slots, front and rear cocking serrations, and a flared magazine well/mainspring housing unit for smoother reloads. The frame is aluminum alloy with a uniform matte black finish, matched to a matte black slide.
The 4.25" bushing-fit stainless steel barrel uses a standard recoil spring plug. The barrel hood is stamped "S.A. 9MM," confirming caliber at a glance. The single-stack 9mm configuration feeds from included 9-round magazines marked "9MM."
Sight regulation and handling are aided by a dovetailed white-dot front sight marked "10-8 USA" and a serrated ledge rear that is drift-adjustable and mounted on a screw-retained plate. These sights, combined with front and rear slide serrations, support confident manipulation.
Controls include a left-side thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with memory bump, along with a skeletonized three-hole trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer. Prominent markings include "OPERATOR" and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" with the crossed-cannons crest on the slide and "GENESEO IL USA" on the frame. Country of origin is USA, and the factory box label matches the pistol’s serial.
