The HK45 V1 pairs a DA/SA, hammer-fired system with a short-recoil, modified Browning action. The V1 setup provides a manual safety/decocker, complemented by a firing pin block, disconnector, and a loaded chamber indicator. This configuration is designed for confident operation with clear mechanical status and positive control.
Ergonomics are a standout. The pistol includes ambidextrous controls with dual slide releases and a paddle-style magazine release, plus interchangeable backstraps and textured polymer grips with finger grooves to fine-tune fit. Fixed 3-dot sights and a 6.65 in sight radius support precise alignment.
The 4.47 in barrel is cold-hammer-forged with polygonal rifling and an O-ring at the muzzle to promote consistent lockup. This non-threaded barrel complements the pistol’s full-size format and standard 10+1 capacity in .45 ACP. The four-slot MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail on the dust cover accepts compatible lights or accessories.
This example is marked “Made in USA (Columbus, GA)” and shows a distinctive, uniform green coloration across the slide and polymer frame. The combination of its U.S. manufacture, V1 control layout, and development input from Larry Vickers and Ken Hackathorn gives this HK45 configuration clear, practical appeal for buyers who value purposeful design and execution.
