Made in Germany by GSG for Sig Sauer, the Mosquito is a dedicated .22 LR trainer modeled at approximately 90% the size of the SIG P226. This example is clearly marked with "MADE IN GERMANY," DE country code, eagle over N nitro proof, and the Ulm antler proof, along with the SIGARMS INC EXETER - NH import mark and "MOSQUITO" model marking.
It uses a blowback-operated, semi-automatic DA/SA system with an exposed spurred hammer. Controls include a left-side push-button magazine release and an ambidextrous, slide-mounted manual safety. The slide features rear cocking serrations for positive manipulation.
The pistol pairs a black slide with a flat dark earth polymer frame, creating a durable two-tone finish. It is built around a 4-inch fixed, non-threaded steel barrel.
