This German-made GSG-522 SD Carbine delivers the SD-style look in a .22 LR platform with a non-functional shrouded barrel and ribbed forearm. It features a stainless 16.3-inch barrel, MP5-style non-reciprocating charging handle, and a magazine release. Marked with German proof marks and imported by American Tactical in Rochester, NY, it comes with four 22-round magazines and an installed clamp-on Picatinny rail.

The SD Carbine variant emulates the classic SD profile with a non-functional barrel shroud and an SD-style ribbed cylindrical forearm. Factory iron sights include a hooded front and adjustable rear, providing a clear sight picture out of the box.
Construction pairs a polymer receiver shell with steel and aluminum components for durability while keeping weight manageable. Operation is simple blowback, semiautomatic, with a non-reciprocating left-side MP5-style charging handle for familiar manual controls.
The stainless 16.3-inch barrel is set up for .22 LR high-velocity loads, with the caliber marked "cal. 22LR HV." The rifle uses detachable polymer box magazines and has a 22+1 capacity. A side-folding polymer stock with a 14.0-inch length of pull offers a consistent shoulder fit.
Controls include a magazine release and a manual safety, with the selector marked S and F and color-coded dots. Markings include "Made in Germany," German proof marks, and the "ATI Rochester NY" import stamp.
An American Tactical clamp-on Picatinny rail is installed for mounting optics, complementing the factory iron sights. The receiver setup supports a scope mount, giving flexibility for sighting options.
