The forged stainless steel slide and frame feature brushed flats with matte rounds, giving this full-size Government-length pistol a clean, durable finish. The GI-style recoil system uses a short guide rod and spring plug. The ejection port is both lowered and flared for consistent extraction.
The 5 inch match-grade stainless barrel is chambered in .45 ACP, paired with fixed 3-dot sights (single-dot front, two-dot rear) for a straightforward sight picture. Controls include a thumb safety and grip safety, a short solid GI-style trigger, and an A1-style spur hammer. Rear cocking serrations are present; there are no front serrations.
Grip panels are double-diamond checkered wood with the Springfield Armory crossed-cannons logo laser-engraved into the wood (no metal medallion inlays), complementing the Mil-Spec configuration. Markings include the barrel hood "S.A. .45 AUTO"; left slide "MODEL 1911-A1 CAL. 45"; right slide "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" with crossed-cannons crest; and right frame "SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL USA" with an NM-prefix serial. The front strap is smooth and there is no accessory rail.
Capacity is 7+1, and this pistol includes three 7-round steel magazines. It is a full-size 1911 platform built in the USA with the classic features and markings buyers expect in a Mil-Spec configuration.
