The MK18 configuration centers on a 10.3-inch chrome-moly-vanadium steel barrel that is cold hammer forged and chrome-lined for durability. It uses a 1:7 twist to stabilize a wide range of 5.56mm NATO projectiles, and the threaded muzzle supports standard AR-15 muzzle devices. A carbine-length gas system and direct impingement operation complete the core setup.
The Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II quad-rail handguard is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum and uses the two-piece Bolt-Up free-float design. It offers a full-length, T-marked top rail with L/R/B index marks and a 9.55-inch rail length for consistent accessory positioning. This handguard is compatible with the M203 and follows the SOPMOD Block II pattern.
Receivers are 7075-T6 forged aluminum finished in FDE, with the upper receiver rollmarked "MK18" and the Daniel Defense CAGE Code 3E3E2 present. The rifle includes Daniel Defense furniture with DD texturing and a Daniel Defense-marked vertical foregrip for secure handling.
Controls and small parts are Daniel Defense-branded where noted, including an ambidextrous charging handle and DD-logo bolt carrier. The manual safety selector and adjustable FDE stock provide familiar AR-15 ergonomics, with a 13.5-inch length of pull for a comfortable shoulder fit.
Front and rear iron sights are installed for a low-profile, durable sighting solution. The quad-rail layout supplies continuous 1913 Picatinny interface on all four sides, and the included five 32-round polymer magazines provide a 32+1 capacity.
