The Model 742 is a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle with a right-side charging handle and right-side ejection port. Chambered in .30-06, it uses a detachable 4-shot magazine for a 4+1 capacity. A cross-bolt safety provides simple, familiar control.
The BDL Deluxe trim showcases high-gloss walnut and classic styling. The stock features a Monte Carlo comb with a right-hand cheekpiece, impressed basket-weave/scroll patterning, and factory sling-swivel studs. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches. A matching walnut fore-end completes the look.
Factory open sights are retained, with a ramped front and an adjustable rear leaf on a screw-attached base. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped, and scope bases and rings are installed. A Bushnell Scopechief IV riflescope with 2.5–8x magnification is mounted and ready for range or field use.
