The MCX Virtus Patrol uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston operating system with a 2-position adjustable gas valve for suppressed or unsuppressed use. This system is designed for consistent cycling across a range of conditions.
Its 16-inch cold hammer forged barrel is paired with a free-floating aluminum M-LOK handguard and a full-length 1913 Picatinny top rail for mounting compatible accessories along the top of the receiver and handguard.
The folding stock attaches via the rear 1913 interface and locks solidly in place. Thanks to the buffer-less internal recoil system, the rifle can be fired with the stock folded.
Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety selector. The rifle uses STANAG magazines and includes one 30-round Magpul PMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M2 MOE. The upgraded TriggerTech two-stage, flat-faced trigger provides a distinct take-up and break. The rifle is built on an aluminum alloy receiver and includes a quick-change barrel system. Sights are not included.
Additional configuration notes include a SIG SAUER polymer pistol grip and an 11.0-inch length of pull. This Virtus model is made in the USA and has a 30+1 capacity in 5.56mm NATO.
