The Government-size 5-inch barrel uses the standard 1911 bushing and plug recoil system, paired with a single-action, short-recoil, tilting-barrel operation. Capacity is 8+1 in .45 ACP, and the Series 80 system adds a firing-pin safety alongside the thumb safety and grip safety.
Construction highlights include a matte stainless frame with checkered front strap and a flat, checkered mainspring housing, plus a mildly beveled magazine well for easier reloads. The slide is two-tone, with brushed silver flats and a darker blued/black top, and it wears rear-only cocking serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port.
Sight configuration is a fixed Novak low-mount rear with two white dots and a Night Fision dovetailed front dot, providing a clear 3-dot layout.
