This Government Model is a true Series 70 in 9mm Luger, built in 1979 in the USA. It retains hallmark Government-pattern dimensions with a 5-inch barrel and full-size frame. The installed Southern Tactical 9mm barrel is clearly marked and complements the pistol’s period configuration.
The blued carbon-steel slide features rear vertical serrations and a standard ejection port. A GI-style recoil spring plug and barrel bushing, arched mainspring housing, and smooth front strap underscore the classic 1911 build. The single-stack magazine well supports the included 10-round magazines for a 10+1 capacity.
Controls follow traditional 1911 single-action operation with a thumb safety and grip safety, and no firing pin block as expected for Series 70. A short trigger and wide spur hammer complete the period-correct control set.
Fixed GI-style sights include a staked front blade and a square-notch rear. Rollmarks are correct: the left slide reads "COLT'S MK IV/SERIES '70 GOVERNMENT MODEL 9mm LUGER CALIBER" with the Rampant Colt, the right slide reads "COLT'S GOVERNMENT MODEL," and the right side of the frame is marked "COLT'S PT.
