The SMG-45 uses a short-recoil, delayed-blowback action tailored for .45 ACP, paired with UMP-pattern magazines for 25+1 capacity. Lower receiver controls are fully ambidextrous, and an HK-style paddle magazine release provides intuitive, gloved-hand operation.
Its 8.5-inch cold-hammer-forged chromoly steel barrel is threaded .578-28 RH and features 6-groove rifling with a 1:16 RH twist. A thread protector is installed. The bore is bright and clean, consistent with the overall excellent bore condition.
A full-length T-marked Picatinny rail runs the 12 o’clock position, complementing the slotted modular aluminum handguard. Premium Magpul MBUS Pro steel flip-up sights come installed, and the reversible, non-reciprocating folding charging handle enhances adaptability and handling.
The aluminum receiver and handguard wear a hardcoat anodized finish, with nitride and nickel-boron treatments applied in key areas from the factory. The SB Tactical side-folding brace keeps the package compact (approximately 15.26 inches folded) and includes a QD sling socket. Overall weight is about 5.2 pounds.
