The Model 37 is built on the S&W J-frame with a lightweight aluminum alloy frame paired to a steel cylinder and a pinned 2 inch steel barrel. The yoke cut is marked "MOD. 37" and the barrel is marked "AIRWEIGHT .38 SPL. CTG." for quick identification.
It retains classic fixed sights consisting of a serrated ramp front and an integral square-notch rear. The ejector rod features a knurled tip for positive manipulation. The overall finish is blued/black with a black frame and blued cylinder.
This revolver operates in double-action/single-action and holds five rounds of .38 Special. It has no internal lock, aligning with the period-correct configuration for this 1970s example.
