The M17X is a full-size X-Series variant chambered in 9mm Luger with a 4.7-inch barrel and an approximate 8.0-inch overall length. It uses a striker-fired, semi-automatic action with a flat-faced trigger and an X-Series polymer grip module featuring an extended beavertail, high undercut, and a flared magwell for confident control and efficient reloads.
The factory-installed SIG Sauer ROMEO-M17 enclosed-emitter optic mounts via the SIG-LOC bottom-mount interface and uses a rugged, gas-purged 7075-aluminum housing with side control buttons. The unit is finished in tan and carries an NSN identifier. The sight configuration pairs the red dot with a SIG X-RAY front sight.
The slide is finished in coyote tan with front and rear cocking serrations. Controls include an ambidextrous slide catch, and there is no manual thumb safety on this example. A MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail is integrated into the dust cover for mounting compatible accessories.
Markings include "SIG SAUER M17," "MFR: 62WB1," and "P/N: 13067008-1" on the slide; "9mm x 19" on the barrel; and "NEWINGTON, NH, USA" on the frame. The included 21-round magazines have witness holes numbered to 21.
