The P230 SL is the stainless-steel version of SIG's compact .380 ACP, built in West Germany and marked with the Ulm antler and eagle over N nitro proofs. This example carries the German two-letter date code and SIGARMS INC., EXETER–NH import mark, with matching serial numbers on the slide and frame.
Its operating system is simple blowback with a fixed 3.6 in barrel, paired with a DA/SA trigger and a decocking lever. There is no manual safety, aligning with the decocker-only manual of arms typical of the model.
The slide is matte stainless with narrow rear serrations and longitudinal anti-glare serrations on top. SIG's fixed contrast sights are present: a front blade with an orange dot and a rear notch with a white bar. The hammer is exposed and spurred.
This compact model uses a heel-type magazine release and ships with six SIG Sauer-marked 7-round magazines. The installed two-piece smooth hardwood panels provide a classic, non-wraparound grip profile on the stainless frame.
