The GRP is a government-size, non-railed 1911 with a forged steel slide and frame, both finished in matte black. A bushing-fit, match-grade barrel and blended, beveled magazine well underscore its build quality. Checkering on the frontstrap and mainspring housing provides consistent purchase.
Controls include an extended thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with a memory pad. The long, three-hole lightened aluminum trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer complete a precision-oriented control setup. Front and rear cocking serrations are cut into the slide for confident manipulation.
Sighting is handled by Trijicon tritium night sights in a two-dot vertical arrangement, with both the front and rear units marked H3 25. These factory-installed night sights support clear indexing in varied lighting.
