Built by Miroku in Japan, this Grade I SA-22 carries bordered scroll engraving on both sides of the receiver, with zig-zag borders along the top and bottom edges. The metalwork features a polished blue barrel and blued receiver top and bottom, paired with brushed silver/French gray side panels. Proof-style markings read "MADE IN JAPAN" and "BROWNING ARMS CO." A Browning Buckmark emblem appears on the bolt.
True to the SA-22 design, this rifle uses a bottom-eject action and a stock-mounted tubular magazine loaded through the buttplate trapdoor. Capacity is 10+1 rounds of .22 LR. It breaks down easily for transport and cleaning via the knurled adjustment ring at the barrel shank.
The 19.25-inch barrel pairs with iron sights consisting of a ramped front sight and an adjustable folding rear leaf. A cross-bolt safety controls the semi-automatic blowback action, delivering the straightforward handling expected from this model.
The walnut stock and forend wear a gloss finish with cut checkering, and the stock is fitted with a steel buttplate incorporating the magazine loading trapdoor. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches. The factory carton serial matches the receiver, and the original Browning owner's manual is included.
