This SW1911TA E-Series is built on a matte stainless steel frame and slide with a 5-inch Government-length barrel and barrel bushing. It is chambered in .45 ACP with a 7+1 capacity, and the barrel hood is marked '.45 AUTO.' The pistol is made in the United States.
The tactical-rail configuration features an integral 1913/Picatinny dust-cover accessory rail with three slots. The top of the slide has a serrated flat to reduce glare, and the left side of the frame/dust cover above the rail is factory marked 'CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED.'
E-Series details include front and rear fish-scale cocking serrations, an external extractor, and E-Series checkered wooden laminate grips with the 'E' medallion. The frontstrap is checkered, and the flat mainspring housing includes a beveled magazine well for cleaner reloads.
Controls and sighting equipment are purposefully configured: an ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety with memory bump, and a skeletonized three-hole trigger with overtravel screw. The Commander-style skeletonized hammer complements the setup. Sights are fixed 3-dot units, dovetailed front and rear with a low-profile rear.
