Built at Jianshe Arsenal and marked with the triangle /26\ stamp and Chinese "五六式" model characters, this Type 56 SKS aligns with the pattern collectors look for in Chinese service rifles. Import markings read "PW ARMS, REDMOND, WA — SKS 7.62x39 CHINA."
The rifle is set up for detachable SKS-pattern magazines and comes with three 30-round steel magazines, providing a 30+1 capacity. It has been converted from the original fixed magazine configuration, and the original fixed magazine is not present.
Core features include a semi-automatic, gas-operated short-stroke piston system with a tilting bolt, a 20.5 in barrel, and classic SKS iron sights: a protected front post with ears and a tangent rear sight leaf graduated to 10.
Useful additions include a receiver-left-side optic mount base, a slip-on two-port muzzle brake, a green web sling, and a Strike Hard Gear stock pouch/cheek pad. A folding spike bayonet and the cleaning rod are present, rounding out the traditional Type 56 setup.
The rifle retains a blued finish on external steel components with the bolt and carrier left in the white. The hardwood, oil-finished stock has a steel buttplate with trapdoor and a wooden upper handguard with three vent slots; the lower fore-end is solid with shallow lightening grooves and no vents. Matching assembly numbers are observed on the bolt carrier, receiver cover, and trigger guard.
