Walther manufactured this M&P22 in Ulm, Germany, and the pistol bears DE country code markings along with the eagle over N proof, Ulm antler proof, and BD date code. The right-side frame is marked “CARL WALTHER ULM/DO” above the trigger area, and the dustcover is rollmarked “MADE IN GERMANY.” The slide itself carries “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A.” on the right and “M&P 22” on the left.
The pistol uses a single-action, internal-hammer, blowback system tuned for .22 LR. It includes an ambidextrous manual safety, a slide stop, a reversible magazine release, a trigger with an integral safety shoe, a loaded-chamber indicator, and a magazine disconnect.
Sighting is straightforward and precise with white 3-dot sights and a click-adjustable rear. The 4.1 inch barrel provides a handy balance for range work and training.
Construction pairs an aluminum-alloy slide with a durable polymer frame. An integral 3-slot Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover supports common rail-mounted accessories.
