- ASFA Ankara Mauser Model 1893/38 bolt-action rifle chambered in 8mm Mauser
Built by Askerî Fabrikalar (ASFA) at Ankara and dated 1933 on the receiver ring, this rifle represents the Turkish arsenal rebuild of the Mauser 1893-pattern small-ring action commonly referred to as the Model 1893/38. It was standardized to 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) as part of Turkey's 1930s conversion program, and it retains the period AS•FA ANKARA crest with the T.C. crescent-and-star.
The rifle uses a 29 in steel barrel and a steel small-ring receiver with the Mauser flag safety. Feeding is via an internal 5-round staggered-column magazine. Sighting equipment consists of an unprotected inverted-V front blade and a tangent-leaf ladder rear sight with a sliding cursor for elevation.
Stock furniture is hardwood with a full-length configuration and straight wrist. It includes a bolt takedown disc, a left-side rear sling loop, and an under-butt swivel. A short handguard covers the upper barrel area ahead of the receiver.
This example has a straight bolt handle with a round knob. The bolt handle and some smaller parts do not match the receiver. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
