This early 1980s Smith & Wesson Model 629 No Dash is a pre-lock, stainless N-frame .44 Magnum with a 4 inch barrel. It features a brushed satin stainless finish, adjustable sights, and desirable wide controls. It is marked "MOD-629" in the yoke cut and includes both rubber finger-groove stocks and factory checkered wood stocks.

The Model 629 No Dash represents the original configuration of S&W’s stainless .44 Magnum revolver, and this example retains its pre-lock frame with a brushed satin stainless finish. The yoke cut is marked "MOD-629," confirming the no-dash status.
Built on the stainless N-frame, it uses a 4 inch barrel with a serrated rib and standard partial underlug. The cylinder holds six rounds and is compatible with both .44 Remington Magnum and .44 Special.
The action is double-action/single-action with a wide smooth trigger and a wide checkered hammer spur. It uses a hammer-mounted firing pin and a checkered teardrop cylinder latch for positive control.
Sights are fully adjustable iron sights, featuring a pinned red-ramp front and a micrometer-adjustable rear, offering a clear sight picture well-suited to the .44 Magnum cartridge.
Overall length is approximately 9 5/8 inches. The revolver currently wears S&W rubber finger-groove stocks with a molded-in S&W logo, and it also comes with factory checkered wood stocks with gold medallions for an alternate factory look and feel.
