The G42 is Glock's micro-size, single-stack .380 Auto designed around a short-recoil, locked-breech Safe Action system with a striker-fired trigger. It uses a left-side magazine release and a captive dual recoil spring assembly tailored to the compact slide and barrel length.
The 3.25 in barrel features polygonal rifling with a 1:9.84 RH twist. The bore is excellent with a clean, mirror finish, supporting the strong overall mechanical condition of this example.
Fixed polymer sights include a white-dot front and white-outline U-notch rear, providing a simple, durable sight picture appropriate for this platform. The slide has rear serrations only for straightforward manipulation.
The slim, Gen4-style micro-textured polymer frame contributes to the G42's compact profile. Single-stack magazines support the design, with factory 6-round magazines and an included 8-round magazine enabling up to 8+1 capacity.
Markings include a USA slide roll mark and a barrel marked ".380 Auto" with US marking and proof mark, aligning with the pistol's U.S. manufacture and proofing.
