The AP5-M uses a stamped and welded steel receiver with top claw-mount engagement pads, paired with a molded polymer K-pattern pistol end cap with a metal sling loop in a pistol configuration. The short K-pattern polymer handguard includes an integral hand stop, and the polymer grip module keeps the package compact and controllable.
Its 4.6 inch cold hammer-forged CMV barrel is complemented by a fluted chamber with 12 flutes and a 1:9.8 twist. The muzzle is short and nearly flush with no tri-lug, keeping the profile minimal.
Controls follow the HK pattern with dual magazine releases (paddle and right-side button) and a left-side, non-reciprocating charging handle with a locking notch. A manual safety is provided.
