The Trapper configuration delivers a short overall length of about 33.25 inches and an approximate weight of 7.25 lb, giving this .45-70 a handy profile without sacrificing strength. The stainless receiver, barrel, lever, and magazine tube wear a satin, non-glare finish that resists the elements and hard use.
The 16.1-inch cold hammer-forged stainless barrel uses a 1:20 twist and is threaded 11/16x24 for compatible muzzle devices. A cross-bolt safety complements the lever-action mechanism, while side ejection and a right-side loading gate streamline operation. An oversized big-loop lever provides confident cycling.
Magpul's ELG furniture brings practical upgrades: a polymer stock with adjustable length of pull and a cheek riser system, plus internal storage for six cartridges. The ELG 1895 polymer handguard adds M-LOK slots and QD capability for sling and accessory setup.
Sighting equipment is purpose-built, with a Skinner adjustable rear peep on a 6.25-inch Picatinny rail and a Bear Buster high-visibility front blade on a ramp. The internal tube magazine holds five rounds. This USA-made rifle is identified by its RM-prefix serial and Mayodan, NC rollmark; the variant was introduced on May 13, 2024 under Ruger stewardship (MPN 70912; MSRP $1,649).
