This Bushmaster Carbon-15 9mm Carbine pairs lightweight carbon-fiber–reinforced receivers with a dedicated 9mm AR blowback system and a focused set of quality upgrades. It features a YHM free-float mid-length quad-rail with matching YHM flip sights, a Smith Enterprise Vortex 4-prong flash hider, and a CAA collapsible stock with a saddle. It comes with six 32-round ProMag Colt-pattern magazines and the original Bushmaster manual.

The Carbon-15 receivers are carbon-fiber–reinforced composite to reduce weight. The receiver is marked "BUSHMASTER FIREARMS INC., LAKE HAVASU, AZ, U.S.A." with the Bushmaster serpent logo and "CARBON-15" / "CAL. 9MM NATO." This dedicated 9mm AR configuration uses simple blowback operation. The flat-top upper has an integral Picatinny rail and omits a forward assist and ejection-port cover.
The 16" chrome-moly steel barrel is threaded 1/2x36 and fitted with a Smith Enterprise Vortex 4-prong flash hider. The threaded muzzle supports easy device changes while maintaining the carbine's compact profile.
Handguard and sighting are handled by Yankee Hill Machine components: a YHM-9603 free-float mid-length quad-rail forearm in aluminum, a YHM-9627 forearm-mounted front flip sight, and a YHM-9680 rear flip sight. Low-profile rail covers are installed, including tan panels and OD ERGO low-profile covers, for a clean, snag-resistant grasp on the rails.
Ergonomics and control are enhanced with an OD ERGO ambidextrous SureGrip pistol grip and a CAA collapsible carbine stock equipped with the CAA (TDI) Stock Saddle. A ProMag butt pad is installed on the stock. The carbine uses a 6-position receiver extension, providing an approximate length of pull range from 11 to 14.5 inches. A manual safety is present.
