This Lone Star Commemorative was produced in 1970 to mark Texas statehood and uses the LS-prefix serial format unique to the edition. Factory engraving includes a receiver star with the dates 1845 and 1970, star-border motifs, the tang inscription "UNDER SIX FLAGS," and a gold-filled "LONE STAR COMMEMORATIVE" barrel legend.
The rifle is built around a bright brass-finish receiver with matching brass-finish buttplate, lever, and forend cap. It wears American walnut furniture with a straight grip, a fluted comb, smooth surfaces, and inlaid commemorative medallions. The overall presentation reflects the factory commemorative configuration.
It retains a 26-inch half-octagon/half-round blued barrel made of Winchester Proof Steel, paired with a short tubular magazine. Sight regulation is traditional Model 94: a semi-buckhorn rear with step elevator and a front blade on a ramp. Capacity is 6+1, and the action is the classic top-eject lever design. A saddle ring and staple are fitted on the left side of the receiver.
Markings include the Winchester proof on top of the barrel and the rollmark "WINCHESTER MODEL 94 30-30 WIN. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL." This 1970 commemorative was manufactured in New Haven, Connecticut, and has a 13.25-inch length of pull.
