Built on an Essential Arms Co. J-15 lower receiver from Krotz Springs, Louisiana, this carbine is verified pre-ban, manufactured prior to the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban. It retains the AR-15 direct-impingement, semi-automatic operating system and uses the standard STANAG magazine interface, with a 30+1 capacity.
The upper is a flat-top assembly with a T-marked Picatinny rail, forward assist, and ejection-port cover. The aftermarket DTI barrel is marked "DTI 1x9 5.56 Nato," measures 16 inches, features a 1:9 twist, and is threaded with an A2-style flash hider. The bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling.
A free-float aluminum handguard with a continuous top rail enhances rigidity and accessory placement, complemented by FDE rail panels and an FDE angled foregrip. A YHM clamp-on railed gas block supports a flip-up front sight, paired with a flip-up rear aperture sight for a clean, low-profile sighting setup. A detachable forward-mounted bipod is installed for additional stability when needed.
Ergonomic and control upgrades include a BCM Gunfighter charging handle, a Magpul MOE pistol grip (FDE), a Magpul enhanced trigger guard, and a Magpul bolt-assist device. The trigger features an aftermarket, skeletonized curved shoe. A 6-position collapsible polymer stock (black) provides a length of pull of 13.5 inches, and a manual safety selector is fitted.
The package is rounded out with five 30-round Magpul PMAGs with MagLevel windows for quick round-count checks, a single-point bungee sling in OD green, and a separate AR-15 carbine buffer and a rifle case. This configuration delivers a well-sorted, pre-ban J-15 carbine with practical upgrades and useful accessories.
