The Model 70 Alaskan uses a push-feed bolt with a recessed bolt face, plunger ejector, and a small extractor for positive feeding and extraction. A three-position wing safety on the bolt shroud provides safe operation and facilitates unloading while on safe. Winchester's adjustable Model 70 trigger delivers a clean, consistent break.
The rifle wears a 25-inch sporter-contour barrel in blued steel. Factory iron sights include a hooded front sight on a ramp and a folding, adjustable rear barrel sight, offering a clear sighting setup out of the box.
The stock is satin-finished walnut with a straight comb, bordered point cut checkering at the grip and fore-end, and a Decelerator recoil pad. Sling-swivel studs are installed front and rear, and the length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
Feeding is from an internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate, with a factory capacity of 3 rounds in this chambering. The blued steel receiver carries the WINCHESTER rollmark, and a Leupold one-piece cross-slot base is already mounted for easy optic installation.
