The receiver is marked Auto-Ordnance (Kahr Arms), Worcester, Massachusetts, and carries a historical U.S. patent number block. It combines classic Thompson styling with a pistol configuration and includes two Thompson-pattern stick magazines.

The TA5 is a semi-automatic Thompson-pattern pistol operating from a closed bolt with straight blowback action. Chambered in .45 ACP, it accepts Thompson-pattern stick and drum magazines, and comes here with both a 20-round and a 30-round stick magazine.
Its 11-inch finned barrel features a plain crowned muzzle with no Cutts compensator. The top-mounted charging knob (actuator) and a left-side manual safety mirror the classic Thompson control layout.
Sights consist of a flip-up ladder/aperture rear on a protected base paired with a fixed blade front. Walnut furniture includes a horizontal forend with an underside sling loop and a walnut pistol grip.
The receiver bears Auto-Ordnance (Kahr Arms) Worcester, Massachusetts markings along with a historical U.S. patent number block, underscoring the faithful Thompson lineage of this reproduction pistol.
